Sweet and spicy flavours perfectly infused in the slow cooker. The slow cooker is great to thicken the sauce with minimal effort. This recipe is a little different only requiring 2 hours of cooking time, and a little attention at the halfway point.

I served mine up in lettuce cups using little gem lettuce, but could also be enjoyed with rice.

Ingredients

Serves 4

  • 600g stewing steak

  • 1 tbsp cornflour

  • 1 mango, peeled, stoned and diced

  • 2-4 hot chillies (depending on how spicy you like it!)

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp mirin

  • 2 tsp sesame oil

Directions

  1. Put the beef and cornflour in the slow cooker an toss to coat the beef. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well

  2. Cook on high for 1 hour, set the lid slightly ajar and cook for a further hour on high

  3. Serve and enjoy
